[Back] [Welcome] [New to E-learning?] [How To Begin] [ETUDES-NG Login]

Interested in or registered for an online class?

Before or as soon as you register, please review the instructor's course summary closely for information on prerequisites, required meetings, and how to access the course. (Click on the course ID link for your course from the list of all online classes.) In the course summary, you will find some or all of the following information:

bulletInstructor contact information
bulletPrerequisites
bulletRequired meetings or proctored exams
bulletTextbook information
bulletCourse content (list lessons/modules)
bulletInformation on exams, discussions, and grading
bulletHow the class will be delivered and how to access it (ETUDES-NG or another method)
bulletWhatever else the instructor feels important to tell you at this time

Some instructors require that you email them as soon as you register, while others prefer that you simply come to class (log on) on the first day of classes. Check the online course summary early to find out how your course is set up and what your instructor expects.

If there are no instructions on how to begin in your instructor's online course summary and you have not received any information by the first week of the term, please contact our Student Help Desk .

*ETUDES stands for Easy to Use Distance Education Software, and it is a learning management system used by most of our instructors to develop, deliver, and manage courses over the Net. ETUDES was developed by Michael Loceff, Computer Science instructor at Foothill College. The next generation of the system, ETUDES-NG was released in 2005, and it is the result of a collaborative open source higher education effort, the Sakai Project.
